Have you been frustrated trying to meditate? Well, you may have skipped the first step–the breath! Your breath directly impacts your nervous system and how well you deal with stress and anxiety. Learn to harness it and you will begin to master the constant chatter of your mind and sink more deeply into your body creating a true sense of balance in your life. You’ll finally feel like you can do this “meditation stuff”! 


Our breath and our body are providing us critical information about our well-being all the time. When we learn to listen and identify these messages we begin to feel more centered and grounded. Our breath is our gateway to feeling vibrant and well.


Breathwork and body awareness or “embodiment” are THE universal building blocks of all meditative practices. Too often we skip this step in trying to engage in a meditation practice. There is a progressive nature to learning how to meditate that should feel natural and simple and lead you to achieving the outcomes you seek no matter what style of meditation (and there are many!) you eventually embrace.

In this 6-week class series you will learn these progressive breath and movement-based grounding techniques and begin to feel at ease and relaxed in your body. Drawn from the yogic and “soft” martial arts traditions (such as thai chi and qigong), these simple techniques can be used anywhere to help calm the mind and increase vitality. 

Each class is comprised of gentle movements to ground the body, guided exercises to build mental focus and concentration, and breathwork techniques to hone body-breath awareness. Because both breathwork and movement are explored in each session, this class is perfect for those with "busy minds" who typically find it hard to settle in to meditation.

Included in the series is a one-on-one meetup with Anne (to be completed within the seesion dates) to develop a personalized breathwork plan tailored to your needs that will support you in continuing your practice at home. Available times and sign-up for your one-on-one will be offered at your first class meeting.


Wear loose comfortable clothing or workout attire and prepare to be barefoot. Feel free to bring a yoga mat, although one is not required. Class is capped at 12 participants.

  • A full refund (minus the processing fee which is 3% of the transaction amount + 30 cents) will be given for registrations that are cancelled up to 7 days before the 1st class. Cancellations that occur less than 7 days before the 1st class forfeit the total payment. There are no makeups for missed classes and sessions cannot be prorated. If the session includes a one-on-one meeting with the instructor, this must be booked within the session dates and at the instructor’s discretion.
