Meditation: The Power of Presence
Saturdays, November 9 - December 14 (NO CLASS 11/30)
10:00am - 11:00am
Meditation is a practice that trains the mind in awareness, helping you to shift your perspective and giving you more autonomy over your life and your happiness. As the world gets busier and busier and filled with more and more distraction, being able to pay attention and be in the present moment is an increasingly important skill.
This 5-class series is designed to provide guidance and accountability to both beginner and veteran meditators alike. Each class begins with simple movement and breathwork to prepare the mind and body for meditation. Then, a specific meditation is introduced and practiced. Since there is no one "style" of meditation that is “best” or that fits every one or every need, this class explores a myriad of meditation practices, techniques, and strategies (i.e., mantra, eye-gazing, body scan, guided visualization, yoga nidra).
Regardless of your experience level, this class will serve as a touchstone amidst life’s stressors and help you find joy in simply being rather than always doing.
Wear comfortable clothing. No need to bring anything--we have meditation cushions here.
Class is capped at 15 participants.
